I created this free digital print as a self-initiated fundraiser for the Richmond Community Bail Fund.

This print references a photograph of Ballerinas Kennedy George, 14, and Ava Holloway, 14, posing in front of a monument of Confederate general Robert E. Lee in Richmond after Virginia Governor Ralph Northam ordered its removal. I was inspired by the young women in this photo. They stand full of grace and power in front of a deteriorating monument, ready to see our world progress. Their strength compelled me to paint this.
The fundraiser took place on personal social media accounts and was featured by Sheryl Sandberg.
